How to Apply for Membership

To apply, prospective members must submit a completed Membership Application along with documentation proving they meet the eligibility requirements. All members must comply with the WPG Bylaws to benefit from membership. Once submitted, the WPG Board of Directors reviews the application to ensure it meets all criteria. In some cases, the President may grant Temporary Membership for up to 90 days until the Board makes a final decision.

Membership Categories

There are several types of membership, each with its own criteria. Below is a summary, though reviewing the complete WPG Bylaws is essential for full qualification details.

Active Membership

For Wisconsin or Upper Michigan-based manufacturers, processors, converters, printers, or distributors of paper, packaging, or related products. Applicants must prove their creditworthiness, agree to follow WPG policies, and have no history of antitrust or felony violations.

Converter Associate Membership

For manufacturers, processors, converters, printers, or distributors without a Wisconsin or Upper Michigan facility. However, only commodities produced by an Active Member can be shipped under this membership. Similar to Active Membership, applicants must prove creditworthiness and have no antitrust or felony violations.

Probationary Membership

For companies that don’t yet meet the requirements for Active or Converter Associate Membership but are likely to qualify within 18 months. Probationary members benefit from WPG’s services while the Board of Directors review the application for formal approval.

Related Entities

Subsidiaries or divisions of existing WPG members may be eligible for independent membership. Contact WPG to learn more about applying as a related entity.

Logistics Associate Membership

This membership is open to Wisconsin or Upper Michigan-based companies in industries such as metal fabrication, furniture, food production, and transportation equipment. Applicants must demonstrate financial stability and agree to WPG’s policies, with no history of antitrust or felony violations.

Third-Party Logistics Membership (3PL)

Companies providing logistics services can apply for 3PL membership, provided they only ship authorized commodities produced in Wisconsin or Michigan. As with other memberships, applicants must prove creditworthiness and have no history of antitrust or felony violations.
